1 Day Emergency First Aid At Work
Qualification: EFAW (RQF Level 2)
This one day course is proving to be very popular, which was introduced in October 2009 by the HSE. The changes were aimed at making sure business’s could easily assess their first aid needs and appropriately train their staff in first aid. This course is aimed at companies who have assessed their first aid needs and placed themselves in the low risk category. A range of subject will be covered including resuscitation, heart attacks, bleeding and fractures.

3 Day First Aid At Work
Qualification: FAW (RQF Level 3)
This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. The course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

2 Day First Aid At Work (FAW Re-qualification)

This 2-day course is designed to refresh current first aid at work certificate holders and covers all aspects of the first aid at work course. Enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition to this, should there have been any change to protocols during their initial qualification, then this will be updated.

2 Day Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
Qualification: FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague.

This course builds on the Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health and covers a wider range of mental health conditions and goes into detail on the range of therapy and professional support that a person may be given by professional bodies during treatment for a mental health condition.

The course is suitable for all persons within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation.

This course runs over 12 hours spread over at least 2 days.

1 Day First Aid for Mental Health Awareness
Qualification: Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.

This course runs over 6 hours spread over 1 day.

Assessment
The qualification is assessed through both a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and a multiple-choice question paper. A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.

This course has been developed for those who are working with children and babies. Catastrophic Bleeding
Qualification: Catastrophic Bleeding Control
This is an excellent workshop to equip learners in how to deal with Catastrophic Bleeding. It will advise on the inherent dangers associated with the use of Tourniquets and Haemostatic Dressings, whilst administering first aid in a high risk environment for the purpose of saving life. It has been developed to meet the requirements of industries that consider themselves to be at high risk following a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

Forestry First Aid
Qualification: Forestry First Aid (+ F) - FAA Level 3 Award - 2-hr Bolt-On
Additional training in the following subjects: Crush Injuries, Hypothermia / Exposure, Lyme Disease and Catastrophic Bleeding using Tourniquets, Haemostats and Compression Bandages (including Chain Saw Injuries and Gun Shot Wounds) and Casualty Evacuation Planning.

Student First Aid
Qualification: Level 2 Award in Student First Aid (RQF)
The Government has announced that health education will become compulsory in all state-funded schools in England from September 2020 and this includes basic first aid training.

This 3-hour Student First Aid course has been designed for key stage 3 and key stage 4 students (11+ years) and fulfils the requirements of the Department for Education in respect of first aid training.

Not only would secondary schools meet the statutory requirements for health education, but students would also have the opportunity to attain a nationally regulated qualification, enhance their CV and develop new life skills.

The Duke of Edinburgh's First Aid : 12 hour
Qualification: DofE - (RQF Level 2)
This course is designed for people working in the outdoors and is recommended for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE). The level 2 qualification is made up of 2 units including Emergency First Aid at Work. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in many activities, including sports leisure and recreation. Not only Basic Life Support included but many other conditions ranging from hypothermia to head injuries to sprains to diabetes and asthma.

Awareness course in Anaphylaxis Awareness & Using Auto-Injectors : 2 Hour
Qualification: Anaphylaxis Awareness & Using Auto-Injectors
This 2 hour course is designed so that each delegate understand what anaphylaxis is and how it relates to a normal mild allergic reaction; common triggers for attacks; signs and symptoms of a reaction; risk assessment and working with care plans; administration of an auto-injector and first aid treatment.
Delegates are required to take in active participation on the piratical demonstration of the trainer EpiPen® /Anapen® /auto-injector in order to achieve certification.

We suggest that a work based risk assessment should be carried out and anyone expected to manage an anaphylactic emergency should be trained to a competent level in order to act safely and appropriately. This course is designed with exactly that in mind.

Defibrillation
Qualification: AED (RQF Level 2)
Cardiac Arrest is the biggest killer in this country. Over 150,000 die as a result. The majority could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available. Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) are now becoming more common throughout a range of workplaces. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it. This very practical course will allow suitably qualified First Aid personnel to use the AED competently and with confidence. Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but also revisits some basic First Aid skills, including resuscitation.

Medical Gases course - including Oxygen & Entonox : 2 Hour
The course is for delegates who, because of their first aid duties e.g. remote locations, nature of injuries, might need to consider the use of Entonox for pain management until the arrival of emergency services.

Appointed Persons : 2 hours
Where an employer's assessment of First Aid needs identifies that a First Aiders or Emergency First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirements on an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of a First Aid arrangements, Including looking after equipment and facilities, and calling the emergency services when required.

This 2 hour session is theoretical training session with no practical element.

Annual Refresher First Aid Course : 3 Hour
Qualification: FAW / EFAW
Although it is not mandatory, the HSE strongly recommend that HSE qualified First Aider's and Emergency First Aider's Undertake an annual refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed.
